"We relish news of our heroes, forgetting that we are extraordinary to somebody too."
I'm not even done with Mary Poppins yet, but I'm already starting on my next project: Neil Simon's famous farce Rumors in which I play the eccentric, crystal-loving Cassie. We had our first rehearsal with the whole cast on Monday and I can already tell, this show is going to be hilarious!
This will be my first show at the North Coast Repertory Theater and opening night is September 17th! Hope to see you there!
Step in Time!
This Friday kicks off the opening weekend of HUmboldt Light Opera Company's Mary Poppins! I'm a banker, a dancer in Supercal, and as you can see, a Chimney Sweep! I also designed the hair and makeup for the production in addition to taking over the publicity and social media department. It's been a busy summer, but worth every moment.
Mary Poppins runs Fridays and Saturdays at 7:30, and Sundays at 2:00 at the Van Duzer through the 16th of August! All tickets less that $20. www.hloc.org
New Teaching Job!
I am so excited to start teaching some summer theatre workshops through Humboldt Light Opera Company's youth education branch, KidCo! I can't believe my four years at Willamette has come to an end. I am so grateful for all that I have learned and experienced and thrilled that I got to share it with the most amazing friends a woman could ask for. Real life, here I come!
Super excited to announce...
that I will be playing Maria in Willamette University Theatre's student arts group production of Twelfth Night or What "WU" Will by William Shakespeare, directed by two of my very best friends, Erika Lebby and Kilee Rheinsburg! Like last year's wildly successful production of A Midsummer Night's Dream, it will be a site specific show all around our beautiful campus for one day only! Add it to your callendar now: May 5th! Don't miss it! It's free to attend!
New York for the FIRST TIME!
I'm all finished with my URTA and Satellite auditions and I could not be more thrilled with my first time in the Big Apple. I got nine callbacks in total, which is incredibly humbling, and I am very grateful for the opportunities from all the schools that participated. Now all I have to do is wait out this blizzard, get home safe, and bite my nails until February 16th when official offers go out!
Happy New Year, everybody!
Just Finished my registration for the 2015 Unified Shakespeare Auditions co-produced by the Portland Area Theatre Alliance and the Complete Works Project. Shakespeare is my ultimate passion, so I'm very excited for all the opportunities it will bring, especially because represntatives from the Oregon Shakespeare Festival will be there -- can you say, "DREAM JOB?!"
I'm very excited to announce
that I have been cast as Alithea in Willamette University Theatre's spring production of William Wycherley's The Country Wife, directed by Jon Cole. I'm so grateful to be working with such an amazing cast for my final production at Willamette. The show will run April 16th - May 2nd, 2015 and pre-order tickets are available through the website:
Thesis DONE! What?
I can't believe I just completed my senior thesis performance for theatre. It was entitled Beauty in the Breaking and explored the Japanese aesthetics of Wabi-Sabi through the mending art of Kintsugi. The entire semester was building to this point and it went spectacularly. Special thanks to our thesis advisor, Jon Cole, without whom we would not have gotten here. I am so grateful to have shared my work with everyone.
For more pictures, see the Production Photos gallery!
Senior Thesis Performances
this Tuesday and Wednesday! The eight of us have been working incredibly hard all semester and we cannot wait to show the culmination of our creative explorations. The performances are free(!) and start at 7:30 each night. My performance is part of the Wednesday group, but I highly encourage everyone to see both nights -- they are spectacular!
LAST WEEKEND to see "Veracity, a dance concert!"
We've sold out every performance, so get your tickets early. You don't want to miss this one. I'm in a tap piece choreographed by my friend, Mary Rose Branick, and the musical theatre piece -- "You Can't Stop the Beat" from Hairspray -- choreographed by the artistic director, Jessi Fouts.

Happy Halloween, everybody!
If you want tips and tricks for how to do a zombie or burn makeup using gelatin, use the contact page to send me a message! It was a fun experiment and it turned out really well.
Caryl Churchill's Top Girls is opening tomorrow, Friday, September 26th at Willamette University's M. Lee Pelton Playhouse! We had a fantastic preview night tonight . Audiences are in for a raucous, thought provoking show as we delve into the world of a spectrum of women at the precipice of the Thatcher era in England.
I'm appearing as Dull Gret and Joyce and having a smashing time. The show runs weekends through October 11th.
